How I Find Time to Connect with Spirit

My Daily Routine

One of the common questions I get from my clients is, how do you find time to channel each day? I have to admit, I was not always the best at this. It took many, many years for me to recognize the importance of making time each day to channel and connect with spirit. It’s far too easy as a mother, a wife, and a friend to prioritize everyone else’s needs before your own. I have, however, learned it is an essential part of self-care to set aside time in my daily routine. Just like running, or lifting weights, or practicing painting, setting aside a little time each day can really help to improve the strength and clarity of your connections. I’ll share a bit more with you about my routine in the hope that it inspires you to take some time out of your own day to connect.

A Note about Time

Time and space are not measurable when working with Spirit, Angels and Guides. One can receive a great deal in the way of images, messages and insight in a very small amount of what we call “time” in this fourth dimension (our current dimension, what we can perceive as here and now). This is important because it helps us not get discouraged if we feel like we only spent a “little” time connecting. What may seem like a little to us is actually a lot to the other side! What a beautiful idea, though, to find such meaning in the small moments.

When Do I Channel?

Depending on what I have planned for each day, be it my “day job,” or “chores,” or other “mundane responsibilities” like getting the groceries (we all know what I am talking about here ☺) I allow twenty minutes at the beginning of each day for my time with spirit. I have tried other times of the day, but the beginning of the day works best for a few reasons. For one, I am a morning person (one of those morning larks versus a night owl for sure). Secondly, it helps to ensure that those other responsibilities don’t get in the way. By starting my day with peace and clarity, it sets the tone and my intention for the rest of my day. It’s almost like my mental cup of coffee, if you will!

Where Do I Channel?

I choose to channel in my craft room, a separate room of my house from the bedroom. It’s also the room that I feel has the most vibrant energy. Most of us have a space like this; a place where we retreat to when we need to feel calm and recentered. For many years this was the laundry room in our other house, so try not to judge yourself! It might be a garden or garage; really just anywhere you can steal away a few minutes of solitude.

What is My Channeling Process?

I close the door to the room where I meditate and turn on music at a soft volume. My favorite is “Mother Divine - 108 Sacred Names of Mother Divine - Sacred Chants.” I started using music several years ago and it really helps to block out any other distractions. There is so much research out there about music and its effect on heart rate, respiration, and other bodily responses. Don’t underestimate the power of music to soothe the spirit. It doesn’t have to be a certain song, just whichever song or track feels right. You can search YouTube or Spotify for similar tracks to this one.

I sit in a folding chair and close my eyes, extend my hand in an open position and focus on the music. Within seconds I am journeying through the veil usually accompanied by Archangel Michael, Thor and two angels that are at my side. I am placed down in another dimension where other guides, spirits and angels welcome me and my lesson for that morning begins. When talking to other channelers, I have learned that everyone is different. What physical being and who you see depends on your unique gifts, your life path, and your subconscious and unconscious minds. What is important is that you are fully present in the moment, to capture those thoughts and experiences. Later this will be important as you process and interpret your messages received.

After I Channel

When I channel, I am usually gone no longer than 5 - 7 minutes (in 4th dimension time, that is!). When I return, I begin to type my journey to record the messages I have received. It is important that you take time to journal, in whatever modality best suits you. By journaling you will be able to capture those thoughts, images, words, and experiences fresh. Even if they don’t make sense or seem significant in the moment, you will be able to return to them later with a fresh perspective. Your journal is for you and your own processing. You may wish to use pieces and excerpts to share later, or it may simply be a private tool for reflection. The act of journaling is the powerful piece here.

Final Thoughts

Connecting to Spirit does not require a great deal of time or abilities, just an open heart and the love of Source. Please give it a try! Drop me a comment if you’ve ever tried a channeling or connecting routine. Let me know if you have any tips to share!
